The Australian lawyer behind DC’s new MAGA hangout

The first time US President Donald Trump was in power, political and business wheelers and dealers hoping to rub shoulders with him or his advisers camped out at the Trump International Hotel in Washington DC.

The hotel still stands, but it was acquired by Hilton in 2022 and rebadged as the Waldorf Astoria. It’s no longer the watering hole of choice for those wanting to peddle influence or share a drink with like-minded folk in Trump’s presidency.
