TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Regional Operation (Daop) 1 Jakarta announced the addition of seven trains to accommodate the anticipated surge in passenger travel during the upcoming long holiday at the end of January 2025, which coincides with Isra Mi'raj and the Chinese New Year.
Ixfan Hendriwintoko, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, said that these extra trains will serve a number of popular destinations such as Yogyakarta, Solo, Bandung, and Surabaya. Tickets can be booked through the Access app by KAI or official ticket sales partners.
“The operation of these additional trains is part of our commitment to improving service to customers, especially during long weekends. We encourage the public to book their tickets early,” said Ixfan in an official statement on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
List of Additional Trains from Daop 1 Jakarta:
1. Additional Train PSE-LPY (10908) Pasar Senen - Lempuyangan (January 23-30, 2025).
2. Additional Sembrani (7010A) Gambir - Surabaya Pasarturi (January 24-31, 2025).
3. Additional Train GMR-YK (7004B) Gambir - Yogyakarta (January 24-30, 2025).
4. Additional Train GMR-YK (7002B) Gambir - Yogyakarta (January 24-30, 2025).
5. Additional Train GMR-SLO (7016B) Gambir - Solo Balapan (January 24-30, 2025).
6. Train Argo Cheribon (30F) Gambir - Cirebon (January 28-29, 2025).
7. Train Argo Parahyangan (40A) Gambir - Bandung (January 28-29, 2025).
KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has recorded 24,307 passenger departures for the long holiday period (January 27-29, 2025) as of January 14, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. This includes 8,923 passengers on January 27, 7,539 passengers on January 28, and 7,845 passengers on January 29.
The additional trains operating during this period are equipped with a variety of modern facilities, ranging from Mild Steel executive trains and New Image executive trains to Stainless Steel Premium Economy trains. In addition, practical long-seat economy trains are available for short and medium-distance travel.
