Magnolia Oil & Gas Corp. has appointed R. Lewis Ropp as an independent director of its board to serve on its audit committee, effective immediately, according to a Jan. 7 press release.
Ropp has a background in oil and gas operations, engineering, finance, capital markets and investment management, Magnolia said. From October 2001 to June 2024, he served various roles at Barrow Hanley Global Investors including senior managing director, senior equity partner and lead equity portfolio manager. Prior to Barrow Hanley, Ropp was a research analyst covering E&Ps at investment firms Howard, Weil, Labouisse, Freidrichs Inc. and Frost Securities Inc.
Ropp is currently serving on the advisory board of Gasology LLC, a private equity-backed energy technology company, since 2024.
