TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bandung City Police arrested three teenagers on suspicion of sexually harassing two tourists from Singapore. The actions of the three teenagers were discovered after the victim uploaded a video on YouTube. "Last night we arrested the three alleged perpetrators named RF, RM and MCA," said Budi in Bandung, Saturday, January 4, 2025.

The three teenagers are 17 years old and still students. They live in Cimaung District, Bandung Regency. They admitted to meeting the victim while looking for food in the Jalan Braga area, Bandung City. They were curious to see the victim who was making a vlog in English, then followed the victim.

RF admitted to the police that he accidentally touched the back of the victim's body because the road was narrow. Meanwhile, RM only touched the bag, and MCA did not take any action against the victim. "RF admitted to raising two fingers in front of his face and also going ahead of the victim," said Budi.

Budi said he had tried to contact the Singapore Embassy, but until now there has been no response. As an alternative step, the police contacted the victim via email.

"The victim has emailed our Head of PPA Unit and indeed replied that he would leave everything to the police," said Budi.

For now, said Budi, the police are still questioning the three teenagers. The case is now being handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Bandung Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

Previously, a tourist from Singapore named Joanna and her partner Darien were walking along Jalan Braga, Bandung City to make a vlog. They were followed by a number of unknown people. In fact, those people were included in the vlog recording. They are suspected of committing sexual harassment by touching Joanna's backside.
