TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President-elect Prabowo Subianto has begun summoning ministerial candidates to his residence at Jl. Kertanegara, South Jakarta, this afternoon, as confirmed by Gerindra Party Chair Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

"(The ministerial candidates) had signed their willingness to assist (Prabowo) yesterday, but it will be finalized today,” said Dasco today, Monday, October 14, 2024, as quoted by Antara. 

The final decision on whether the summoned candidates will join Prabowo’s cabinet, however, will be determined after the meeting. According to Dasco, the meeting runs today and tomorrow, October 14 and 15.

On the other hand, the Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani, was reticent to comment on Prabowo’s meeting with the ministerial candidates at his residence, claiming to be busy with his assigned duty as the Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR).

"I wasn't summoned, I have my own schedule," he said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta today. He also declined to answer whether Prabowo would provide direct training to the prospective cabinet members.

Muzani, along with MPR leaders, met the president-elect and Minister of Defense Prabowo at the Defense Ministry office today to deliver an invitation for his presidential inauguration slated for October 20 at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta. 

The MPR officials also met President Joko Widodo at Merdeka Palace to deliver a similar invitation. After, Muzani said, he would meet Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka on separate occasions to deliver the invitation to attend the presidential inauguration. 

According to Tempo's monitoring, several figures have arrived at Prabowo's residence, including several Gerindra Party cadres such as Prasetyo Hadi, Sugiono, and Fadli Zon; leading members of the Onward Indonesia Coalition such as Democratic Party Chair Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, National Mandate Party Chair Zulkifli Hasan, Golkar Party Chair Bahlil Lahadalia, and former Crescent Star Party Chair Yusril Ihza Mahendra.

Several entrepreneurs and politicians were also in attendance at Prabowo Subianto’s residence, such as Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Natalius Pigai, Yandri Susanto, Nusron Wahid, Saefullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul, Mauara Sirait, Abdul Kadir Karding, Wihaji, Teuku Rifky Harsya, Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, Yassierli, Satrio Sumantri, and Tito Karnavian.
