Launched last year, the product is on track to make up a low-double-digit percentage of the company’s order book by the end of this year. But Docusign still has a way to go to get it ready for those big customers.“We’ve got some growing up to do,” Thygesen said.The tool, called Intelligent Agreement Management, was originally geared toward small and midsize businesses, but has recently gained traction with larger customers, Thygesen said. Docusign now needs to build out the product so it can tackle the larger and more complex agreements and workflows that big customers present. Thygesen also wants to see Docusign’s marketing evolve to improve how it advertises the AI products, in addition to its traditional e-signature product, he said.The San Francisco company raised its full-year sales outlook to a range of $3.19 billion to $3.2 billion, up from $3.15 billion to $3.16 billion. For the third quarter, Docusign expects revenue to be $804 million to $808 million, ahead of the $797.1 million analysts were projecting.Revenue in the second quarter rose 9%, to $800.6 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet forecast revenue of $780.1 million. Subscription sales also rose 9% and surpassed analyst estimates.Profit was $63 million, or 30 cents a share, in the quarter ended July 31, compared with $888.2 million, or $4.26 a share, a year earlier. Stripping out certain one-time items, adjusted per-share earnings were 92 cents, ahead of the 85 cents anticipated by analysts, according to FactSet.Billings, a key metric, was $818 million, beating the consensus estimate of $762.5 million. That contributed to Docusign lifting its view for annual billings, after trimming that guidance the previous quarter. Billings guidance for the current third quarter is below Wall Street’s forecast, however.Thygesen said the billings metric, which measures orders, is particularly volatile because it depends on when companies want to place new orders. Docusign shares fell as much as 18% on the light billings numbers in the previous quarter.
